When I started Louisiana Back Porch Talk, my goal was simple- to sit down with real Louisiana talent, share real stories, and spotlight our culture. A few months ago, I had the pleasure of doing just that with Mackenzie Bourg, a Lafayette native many of you will remember from his incredible runs on American Idol and The Voice.

I was especially excited about this one because Mackenzie isn't just another artist who made it onto a national TV- he's someone who is from our local area who is extremely talented. What I've always loved about Mackenzie is how he can take any song and completely make it his own. We talked about where that ability came from and how he developed his unique style that audiences instantly recognize.

During our Back Porch Talk, Mackenzie opened up about what life was really like behind the scenes of both shows. He spoke about the highs, the challenges, and what it's like to suddenly have fame at such a young age. He shared what life has looked like since the spotlight faded, how he's continued to grow as an artist, and what keeps him inspired today.
We also touched on social media and how much it's changed the music industry since his time on television. Mackenzie didn't hold back. He shared honest thoughts about how musicians now connect with fans, build careers online, and sometimes struggle to balance lif in the digital age.
Mackenzie was an open book for this conversation, and I truly appreciate how down-to-earth and genuine he was. This is exactly what Louisiana Back Porch Talk is all about- real conversations, real talent, and stories told straight from the heart.
Louisiana Back Porch Talk- Real Stories. Real People. Real Louisiana Talent.
