Education looks different for every child — and that belief is at the heart of Mrs. Roxann’s Tutoring, a locally owned tutoring service led by Roxann Touchet, an educator with a passion for helping students succeed in ways that work best for them.

Roxann brings 18 years of experience in education, including teaching, substitute teaching, and tutoring. Over the years, she has worked with students of all learning styles and abilities, giving her a deep understanding of how to meet children where they are academically and emotionally.

Personalized Tutoring for Every Learner

Mrs. Roxann’s Tutoring offers:

  • Math tutoring for students up to 6th grade

  • ELA (English Language Arts) tutoring for all grade levels

  • ACT and SAT prep

All tutoring sessions are conducted virtually and in person, making them accessible and convenient for families. Sessions start at $15 per session, and the length of each session is flexible, depending on the student’s needs and how long it takes them to complete their work.

Roxann also offers specialty tutoring sessions for standardized testing, which are available annually at a different rate.

Supporting Students Who Learn Differently

One of the most impactful aspects of Mrs. Roxann’s Tutoring is Roxann’s commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs. She works closely with students who have:

  • Autism

  • ADD and ADHD

  • Learning disabilities

Her work with students who have dyslexia and dysgraphia is newer and currently in the developmental stages, as she continues expanding her methods and resources in these areas.

Before beginning tutoring, Roxann uses an assessment process to determine where each student is academically and what type of support they need most. From there, she tailors lessons using a variety of strategies — because, as she puts it, no two kids are alike.

That might mean incorporating games like Candy Land, using different books, or adapting lesson styles to match how a child learns best. Her flexible approach helps students stay engaged, confident, and motivated.

Giving Back Beyond the Classroom

Roxann’s dedication to education extends well beyond tutoring sessions. She has a strong love for her community and believes in recognizing others who make a positive impact.

Recently, she hosted an awards banquet honoring individuals who have contributed to the community and local education system. Some of the Honorees included:

  • David Thibodeaux, who received a memorial award recognizing his life and legacy

  • Local artists Jess Newton and Sarah Melancon

  • Realtor and local business owner Brandi McKnight

These awards celebrated artists, educators, and business owners who continue to uplift and serve the community.

Looking Ahead

Roxann hopes to expand her outreach by hosting learning-focused community events in the future, such as a Math Facts Day at the park, designed to make learning fun and interactive for families.

Currently, Mrs. Roxann’s Tutoring is fully booked for winter and spring, but availability for summer sessions will be announced soon.

Families interested in staying up to date can follow Mrs. Roxann on social media and join her two Facebook groups:
