DJ Rhett & Couyons of Comedy Coming to Alexandria, Pierre Part

Louisiana social media personality DJ Rhett and The Couyons of Comedy are bringing their interactive comedy experience to Alexandria and Pierre Part for two shows this week.

The group will perform Friday, Aug. 28, at The Hearn Stage at The Kress Theatre in Alexandria before heading to Sharky’s in Pierre Part on Saturday, Aug. 29.

The Couyons of Comedy lineup features DJ Rhett alongside Jeremy “J. Troutt” Troutt, Bee Gee and Dana Boucher. Their shows combine Southern storytelling, Cajun humor and audience participation for a night centered around Louisiana culture.

DJ Rhett has built an online following of more than 2 million people through videos featuring his distinctive Louisiana humor and passion for Cajun culture.

More Than a Traditional Comedy Show

Rather than a traditional stand-up format, the Couyons describe their performances as an interactive experience.

Depending on the show, audiences can expect drawings and giveaways, birthday celebrations, a photo booth, surprises and a post-show meet-and-greet with the group. Previous performances have even seen intermissions turn into spontaneous line-dancing sessions.

The group says no two Couyons of Comedy shows are exactly alike, with the audience helping shape the experience each night.

Alexandria Show

DJ Rhett & The Couyons of Comedy will perform Friday, Aug. 28, at The Hearn Stage at The Kress Theatre, located at 1102 3rd St. in Alexandria.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

The show begins at 6:30 p.m.

Pierre Part Show

The Couyons head to Sharky’s, located at 4316 LA-70 in Pierre Part, on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Doors open at 7 p.m.

Live music from Thomas Cain begins at 8 p.m., followed by The Couyons of Comedy at 9 p.m.
