A Night of Laughter with The Couyons of Comedy at O'Darby's Pub and Grill

Kasey P and I had the chance to attend the Couyons Of Comedy show at O'Darby's Pub and Grill in Carencro, and y'all...it was an evening full of belly laughs, Louisiana culture, and a little friendly gumbo controversy.
The Couyons of Comedy are a group of five Louisiana-based comedians- DJ Rhett, Bee Gee, Jeff Vance, Dana Boucher, and J Troutt- who each bring their own flavor of humor to the stage. No two couyons are alike, and that's exactly what makes their shows such a good time.

For this Carencro show, Jeff Vance and Dana Boucher were unable to attend due to prior commitments, but the lineup didn't miss a beat. Stepping in was the hilarious Jamie L. Spears, a comedian who has quickly been making her mark online. Her energy fit right in with the crew, and the audience loved her.

A little Roux Rivalry Never Hurt Nobody
Before the show kicked off, things heated up outside the venue with a jar roux vs homemade roux gumbo cookoff-because only in Louisiana can comedy and gumbo share the same stage.
Thanks to DJ Rhett's ongoing beef with the 337 and jar roux, he was appointed a judge. The pressure was on, and everybody gave him a hard time about it (as they should!). In the end, the winning gumbo came from the team Rusty's Seasoning for Every Stuff and DJ Rhett chose Rusty's gumbo made with jar roux, which only added more fuel to the teasing.
Where to Catch them Next
If you haven't been to a Couyons of Comedy show yet, now's your chance. Their next stop is this Saturday, November 15th at The Lit Rooster in Madisonville, LA. Tickets are still available on their website, where you can also view their full schedule of upcoming shows. Trust me-grab a seat while you can.
A Special Thank You
I want to give a huge thank-you to Caleb Simon and Couyons of Comedy Manager Kristen Hebert for inviting Kasey P and me out for the show and for giving us the opportunity to meet and chat with some of the comedians. We had a great time, and we hope to attend another show soon when all the couyons are in the house.
Louisiana talent, Louisiana laughter, and Louisiana Food....it doesn't get much better than that.
