The Shortbreadery: How Covid Spawned Creativity

Like many of us during covid, I was looking for a creative outlet. Being confined to the house and not interacting with the outside world was getting really old. I was trying new recipes, unsuccessfully making sourdough bread, ordering unnecessary things online, you name it, but the creative outlet that stuck was baking shortbread cookies and decorating them.

It became a great way for me to forget about the craziness going on and get crafty. I began with flavors. I was so tired of the "usual" cookie flavors that most people know. I began experimenting with flavor combinations and creating harmonious flavors.

One of my favorite created flavors is my orange matcha and my Turkish coffee. After creating flavors, I focused on decorating. I started slow and quickly began picking up techniques I learned by watching several Youtube videos.

And then history was made and The Shortbreadery was born. I've made countless orders that have varied from simple designs to elaborate. My purpose behind The Shortbreadery was to have beautiful cookies that tasted even better than they looked. So the lesson here is, never doubt your ability to try to learn something new.....you never know where it could lead you.
