The Kiwanis Club of Bayou Teche will serve as the official gumbo vendor at this year’s Krewz De Pont Car Show in downtown Breaux Bridge. The event will be held Saturday, November 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., along East Bridge Street to Washington Street. Vehicle registration begins at 8 a.m. with a $30 entry fee.
This will be the Kiwanis Club’s first year partnering with Krewz De Pont. The club will serve gumbo for $8, potato salad for $2, and baked sweet potatoes for $2. Soft drinks and refreshments will also be available at the Kiwanis tent.
“We’re excited to be part of something that brings people together downtown,” said Kelby Daigle, President-elect of the Kiwanis Club of Bayou Teche. “Krewz De Pont is becoming such a staple for Breaux Bridge, and we’re glad to contribute to it.”
Club President and cook Chris Courville said the group is ready for the event. “We’ve been preparing for a while,” Courville said. “It’s a good opportunity to connect with the community and serve a classic dish everyone enjoys.”
The Krewz De Pont Car Show draws car enthusiasts and community members to downtown Breaux Bridge each year, showcasing a wide range of vehicles and local participation.
Monica Huval, a member of both Bayou Teche Kiwanis and Krewz De Pont, said the partnership came together naturally. “Both organizations focus on community involvement,” Huval said. “This event allows us to work together toward that shared goal.”
The annual show continues to highlight the community spirit that makes downtown Breaux Bridge an active and welcoming place for local events.
